SOMMERSAULT IN A COFFIN is the true but allegorical story of a thief who steals cars to keep himself warm during cold winter nights. MAHSUN SÜPERTİTİZ, homeless and unemployed, lives in Rumelihisar (one of the most picturesque and oldest quarters of Istanbul) and tries to survive with the help of local fishermen.
Mahsun, adoring technology and the cars he steals at nights, always brings them back clean and well-kept. It is as if he lives to emphasize the co-existence of possibilities and impossibilities. In this world of duality, Mahsun experiences friendship and loneliness, trust and betrayal, love and hatred, hope and despair. He keeps on surviving in his open air COFFIN made of ancient streets of Istanbul.
